The Top 6 Accessories to Pimp out Your Polaris

Whether you use your Polaris off-road vehicle for jumping sand dunes, hunting in the forest, or getting around your farm, there are six vehicle accessories you must have.

We’re discussing accessories for the Polaris RZR here, but there are many more accessories available for other UTV's, as well as for motorbikes. Of course, you can find other products for your specific needs, but these are the six accessories no RZR should be without.

Put a Roof Over Your Head

While the Polaris RZR comes with a sturdy roll cage as standard, there is no roof included as such. Adding either a soft or hard roof to your vehicle protects you from sun, rain, snow, and hail, and offer some protection if the vehicle rolls over. Hard tops are recommended as they look better, are more durable, and they offer increased safety in the event of a crash and from overhead branches.

Harness the Power of Safety

Although your RZR will have come with seatbelts as standard, you may want extra safety if you are planning on tackling rough terrain. Adding a premium safety harness to each seat makes riders much safer when the Polaris RZR turns onto its side or top or suffers impact with an obstacle. To really maximise your safety, install a 4 or 5-point harness in each seat. Opt for 3-inch harnesses rather than narrower widths. This will distribute the pressure of the strap over a larger surface area, making for greater comfort and less abrasion in the case of impact.

Armoured Vehicle

You’ll probably be taking your RZR through rough terrain. Everything from tree roots to jutting rocks to ditches can spell trouble for parts of your vehicle. Luckily there are accessories to give your RZR to protect it in vulnerable spots. We recommend getting A-arm shielding to protect the arms that hold your RZR’s wheels. A skid plate is standard but Nerf Bars to protect the sides are also essential. Bumper bars are also a great idea.

Get Bogged? You'll Wish You Had a Winch

Winches ease escaping from deep mud and other awkward situations, plus they enable Good Samaritan rescues of other bogged down RZRs. If your vehicle becomes bogged, you can hook the winch up to a solid object and slowly wind the cable to pull your RZR free. Make sure you use mounting plates with powder coat finishes to ensure rust does not weaken the structure.

Shield Yourself

Adding a windshield to your Polaris off-road vehicle protects you from bugs and debris, and keeps the wind out of your face. There are several options available:

  • Half windshields
  • Full windshields
  • Tilting windshields
  • Vented windshields

Talk to an experienced Polaris dealer about which is best for your needs.

Don't Ride in Silence

It’s not really a performance enhancing accessory, but a stereo console is a great way to make sure you enjoy your adventure more. Most stereo consoles mount in the overhead position, although some attach under the dash or other positions. An overhead stereo pod allows for the installation of a user-chosen stereo system inside a sturdy, well-fitted casing. Choose products with weatherproofing and marine-grade speakers to ensure the stereo functions in the rain. You’ll thank us later when you’re tearing along with your favourite tunes blaring and adventure on the brain!
